Push to deploy
With push to deploy, every push to your chosen branch deploys that exact commit. GitHub shows the deployment status on the commit. DockHive sets up the webhook for you.
Turn it on
Section titled “Turn it on”- Open your app and go to Builds & Settings → GitHub Auto-Deploy.
- Pick the Branch (it defaults to the app’s branch) and click Save branch.
- Switch on Auto-deploy on push.
You’ll see “Pushes to <branch> now deploy automatically.”
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- The repository is on github.com.
- Your GitHub connection has repository and webhook access, and you’re an admin of the repository. If not, the console shows a Reconnect GitHub link; reconnect and grant access.
- Apps deployed from a folder can’t use push to deploy.
What deploys
Section titled “What deploys”- Only pushes to the selected branch. Tags, other branches and branch deletions are ignored.
- If a deploy is already running, the next push waits and deploys when it finishes. If several pushes arrive meanwhile, the latest one wins.
The settings card shows the webhook status and the Last delivery, for example deploying abc1234 as v7 or ignored: push to feature-x, auto-deploy branch is main.
Status on GitHub
Section titled “Status on GitHub”Each commit gets a DockHive status that links to the deployment in the console:
- pending: Deploying v7
- success: v7 is live
- failure: v7 failed while building (or another stage)
Turn it off
Section titled “Turn it off”Switch off Auto-deploy on push. DockHive removes the webhook from GitHub. Changing the app’s repository or deleting the app also turns it off.
