Pay as you go (prepaid credits)
Pay as you go has no monthly fee. You load money onto your account as prepaid credits, and usage beyond the free allowances is paid from that balance.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- You get the Free Tier’s monthly allowances (100 build hours, 500 MB bandwidth, 50 MB database storage and 365 vCPU-hours).
- Usage beyond them is deducted from your credits at the same rates as the Developer Plan: $0.05 per vCPU-hour, $0.05 per build hour, $0.10 per GB-month of database storage and $0.02 per GB of bandwidth. See Usage and overage.
- While your balance is positive you get the Developer Plan’s limits (for example 20 apps and 5 HivePods).
- There are no invoices: you pay when you top up.
Start Pay as you go
Section titled “Start Pay as you go”- Go to Billing & Payment and choose Pay as you go.
- Top up: pick $10, $25 or $50, or enter any amount from $5 to $500.
- Pay through secure checkout. The credit appears on your balance when you return.
If you’re on the Developer Plan, cancel it in the billing portal first, then top up.
Your balance
Section titled “Your balance”The Billing page shows your balance, what you’ve spent this month, and an estimate of how many days it will last. The credit history lists every top-up and usage charge.
Auto-recharge
Section titled “Auto-recharge”Tick Save card for auto-recharge when you top up, then turn on auto-recharge to top up automatically with your saved card when the balance runs low. If a recharge payment is declined, auto-recharge turns itself off.
Low balance and zero
Section titled “Low balance and zero”| Balance | What happens |
|---|---|
| $2 or less | You get an email and a reminder in the console. |
| $0 | Running resources keep running. New resources are limited to the Free Tier’s limits. |
| Below $0 | Usage keeps being recorded. You have 72 hours to top up; until then, new resources beyond the Free Tier’s limits are blocked. |
| Below $0 for more than 72 hours | Your account is marked for non-payment and running resources may be paused. Topping up restores it straight away. |
A top-up pays off any negative balance first.
Credits on other plans
Section titled “Credits on other plans”If you’re on the Developer Plan and have credits, usage beyond your plan’s allowance is paid from your credits first, before it’s added to your invoice.
Refunds
Section titled “Refunds”Questions about a top-up or a refund? Email partners@dockhive.io. Refunded top-ups are taken back off your balance.
